Junction Craft Brewing is pleased to announce that it has signed a lease on a new 16.000 square foot facility located at 150 Symes Road in The Junction, at the corner of Symes Road and Glen Scarlett Road. In early 2017, the company will open the doors of a brand new brewery and craft beer destination to be built within the former Symes Road Incinerator.
Situated less than a kilometre from Junction Craft’s current location, this impressive Art Deco structure was built by the City of Toronto and opened in 1934. The design and construction of the project took place under R.C. Harris, Toronto’s longest serving Commissioner of Public Works. Known originally as ‘Destructor on Symes Road’ and later as ‘Symes Road Transfer Station’ when it was converted into a waste transfer facility, it is a rare survivor of West Toronto’s early 20th century’s industrial era in the former Ontario Stockyards area.
The building and its 5.5 acre site were listed for sale by Build Toronto in 2010, and purchased by a Toronto developer in 2012. As it has been declared a Heritage property, the building will be restored and then turned over to Junction Craft for adaptation to a use that reflects its industrial roots while engaging the community. Toronto’s PLANT Architects have been enlisted to help with this transition.
“We’re very excited to be up and running there by early next year,” said President Tom Paterson. “We’ll be opening a facility that, in addition to a new 25hL brewhouse and increased production and distribution capabilities, will offer brewery tours, an event space, and an expanded tap room and retail bottle shop. We hope it will be a place that all craft beer lovers will enjoy and want to keep coming back to.”
Junction Craft Brewing was established in Toronto’s historic west end Junction neighbourhood in 2011. Their mission is to create balanced, flavourful versions of diverse beer styles, while sharing a passion for their enjoyment with a wide range of beer drinkers.

We are pleased to announce that Tracklayer’s Kolsch has arrived @LCBO locations across Ontario as a Seasonal Release for Summer 2016. Tracklayer’s Kolsch is our take on the classic style that has been brewed in and around Cologne, Germany for the last 100 years. Pale, dry and traditionally lagered, Tracklayer’s balances a light fruitiness with biscuity malt notes, delivering a smooth, highly drinkable beer. Brewed with imported malt to a light straw colour, this is abeer that comes from a place where an honest day’s work is an opportunity and its reward is well earned. Clear the track … here comes Tracklayer’s Kolsch!
